This is the old AC compressor came from my Honda Accord 2013. I have the picture here. It had worked for 6 years. It was good. I think it might depend on driving habit like how often I use the AC and what intensity of how I use it as well as the loads in the car when i drove it. It also depends on the terrain of the roads. It can be variety of factors which wear down the AC.
This compressor went bad in summer 2019. It was cold lasting for 10 minutes after I turned it on then it just blew in only hot air from outside.
Honda asked me more than 5 grands paying for parts and labor to take care of the AC compressor. I said no. Then I went to a local auto-shop. They only asked $750 for everything. So I bought a rebuilt one from them.
Now it has been working just fine for 2 years. I am happy with it.
Sometimes it is hard to say when bad thing coming. I think we should all prepare for the unexpectancy.
