I did a touch up for this sketch. I think it provides better view in terms of sharpness and opacity.
I made the portrait of Pushkin darker. I want to see how different it would be.
My friend told me he looks more handsome in the sketch. My goal is to make realistic sketches. Pencil is an easy tool to start out for sketching. One other thing I try is not to go back and forth to redraw something in the image when I am not happy with it. It's actually hard to avoid resketching at certain areas sometimes. The precise captures for shadings and lightings are crucial factors for the success of pencil sketching, I think. This sketching is only roughly 65% to 70% resemblance to actual Pushkin I tried to depict. However, I felt good about it. I am probably going to change something else later on for this sketch. I am not sure yet but it is OK for now.
I think sketching human face sometimes gives me a perception of communicating with the human I am doing the sketch especially to those who no longer exist. I know it sounds scary but I look at it at a different way. I think sketching a human should merely reflecting
